If you are a non-EU/EAA national looking to work in Paris, you will need to possess both a work permit and a residency permit, and will have to apply for both simultaneously. Depending on the kind of work you intend to do, you will need to apply for either a long term work permit or a temporary work permit.
Foreigners who look for employment in Paris usually do so to try and finance their stay in the country so that they can save enough money to travel. There are a number of jobs in Paris that cater to foreign nationals, such as au pairing, seasonal agriculture jobs outside the city, foreign language training, travel and tourism jobs and casual internships available for students.
